9th Kup (Yellow Tag)

The white signifies the innocence of the beginner.

8th Kup (Yellow)

Signifies the earth in which the seed of taekwondo as the foundation of taekwondo is laid.

7th Kup (Green Tag)

Signifies the plant’s growth as your taekwondo skills begin to develop.

6th Kup (Green)

Signifies the plant’s growth as your taekwondo skills begin to develop.

5th Kup (Blue Tag)

Signifies the heavens towards which the plant of taekwondo matures into a towering tree.

4th Kup (Blue)

Signifies the heavens towards which the plant of taekwondo matures into a towering tree.

3rd Kup (Red Tag)

Signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control and the opponent to stay away.

2nd Kup (Red Belt)

Signifies danger cautioning the student to exercise control and the opponent to stay away.

1st Kup (Black Tag)

Signifies the wearer’s imperviousness to darkness and fear. Whereas white represents innocence, black signifies proficiency and maturity in taekwondo.

1st Degree (Black)

Signifies the wearer’s imperviousness to darkness and fear. Whereas white represents innocence, black signifies proficiency and maturity in taekwondo.
